Falls Prevention and Management Matters
A fall can change a life in seconds by affecting confidence, independence, and quality of life. Preventing falls is not only about reducing injuries, but about helping older adults stay active, engaged, and independent for longer.
Through collaboration and evidence-based practice, we aim to support safer ageing and better outcomes for older adults, families, and healthcare systems.
The Asian Falls Network (AFN) was established on 27 November 2023 at the 2nd World Falls Congress in Perth, Australia. United by a shared commitment to advancing falls prevention, founding members from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, and Thailand came together to foster regional collaboration.
Now, AFN comprises members from over 12 countries, and continues to engage clinicians, researchers, and policymakers across Asia to exchange knowledge, strengthen evidence-based practice, and advance best practices in falls prevention and management.
Together, we aim to empower older adults to age with confidence, resilience, and independence across the later years of life.
